Franklin has a population of around 1,575 with a land area of 39.2 square miles. That translates to a population density of about 38 people per square mile.

Town Meetings

Franklin’s Town Meeting is the last Saturday in March. 

In 2026, the Franklin Town Meeting will be Saturday, March 28th at Noon at the Franklin Community Center in the Meeting Room.
 
Town Meeting is one of the oldest forms of government.  Any registered voter in the town is welcome to attend.  The voters that attend are the Town’s Legislative Body of Government.   The Town Warrant is published in the annual Town Report, available by the second week in March.  The final accepted version of the Town Warrant is available in the Town Office usually by March 10th.  Copies are posted at the Franklin Post Office, Franklin Trading Post, and Franklin Town Office.  Copies are always available the day of Town Meeting.
 
June of each year, a Special Town Meeting is held to clean-up any warrant article tabled.
